Elke Sommer was only twenty-four years old when she had her first exhibition at the McKenzie Galleries in Beverly Hills introducing her art to the public.
Among experts, her work was an immediate success. Renowned German art historian Professor Dr. Ulrich Gehre wrote an in-depth critical review of her art. To read it in full, please follow this link.
Over the years, Elke Sommer had a myriad of exhibitions - in the United States as well as in Europe (the photo to the left shows her in the summer of 1969 at the California Museum of Science and Industry with one of the buyers of her art, Lorne Greene, star of the global television hit series Bonanza).
